Here and There
“Bright colour, a sense of place, and an enjoyment of paint are all hallmarks of Peter Quinn’s work. The scenes he depicts have a life, a vitality about them. They demonstrate a confident draughtsmanship and an eye for details that capture the spirit of a place so completely.”

It’s the final week of Water, Paper, Paint.
Water, Paper, Paint, the Royal Watercolour Society’s Spring Exhibition, is a celebration of the three fundamental elements that create a watercolour painting. From these three elements come a vast range of outcomes and in this show you will see huge variations in style, technique and genre.

“London has been the home of the Royal Watercolour Society since its foundation in 1804. Originally exhibiting in Pall Mall, then moving to Conduit Street in Mayfair (1938) before finally relocating to Bankside (1980), the Society has engaged with London for over 200 years.
Our artists have been inspired by its people, history, architecture, diversity and the many opportunities for artistic exploration and expression. London – A Sense of Place is a chance for the RWS to exhibit the works they have made in response to this extraordinary city.”

OFF THE WALL

This annual summer exhibition is an opportunity for the Royal Watercolour Society and the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers to exhibit together and create a dynamic, ever-changing display of paintings and original prints. All works are sold ‘off the wall’ so you are able to take them away with you at the point of purchase. This results in an exhibition that you can visit throughout the summer, seeing new works every time.
