Art Fundraiser in aid of Ukraine
Online Exhibition | 16 – 23 March
In response to the horrific events unfolding in Ukraine, we have launched an online art fundraiser with 100% of the proceeds going to the Disasters Emergency Committee’s Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
This exhibition is made up of a brilliant selection of paintings and original prints, all of which have been very generously donated by artists of the Royal Watercolour Society (RWS) and Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (RE).
We hope that you enjoy this collection and find an artwork to treasure, while supporting such an important cause.

Gallagher and Turner are fundraising to support the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal via Just Giving www.justgiving.com/fundraising/GallagherandTurner
In this time when families are being torn apart, a time of such great courage in the face of death and destruction, art seems such a frivolity. Creativity, however, is one of the things that makes us human, it allows us to communicate and to celebrate our power in the face of oppression. We would like to make it a practical force for good and use it to raise desperately needed aid funding in this European humanitarian crisis.
All details on their webpage here.
I’ve donated Red Villa, Burano, Venice, watercolour.

‘This exhibition of works by Members of the Royal Watercolour Society showcases paintings created in the very recent present alongside those at the earliest points in their career, and everything in between. The display promises to provide visitors with a rare insight into the development of each artist’s creative output, as well as the opportunity to take a piece of work home, whether from now or then.’
1st to 31st October.

‘This latest display of artworks by the Royal Watercolour Society will delve into the challenges encountered by each artist during the Coronavirus lockdown. These extraordinary circumstances have meant that many artists have not been able to create in their usual media, and so for one time only we are excited to deliver an exhibition of Royal Watercolour Society artists, in all media.’

I have four works in the show. These are from a group of works that were languishing unfinished in my studio. Under a lockdown spring-clean I felt it was time to finish them.
On now 2 – 31 October 2020
