The 145th Open Annual Exhibition will run from 15th February to 11th March 2026 in the Upper Galleries of the Royal Scottish Academy building in Edinburgh.

Open daily 10am-5pm. Free admission.

Delighted to be a part of the annual open show and to have won an award. My painting, Small Shop, Port Maturin, Rodrigues, received the Scottish Arts Club Award.

‘The 144th Open Annual Exhibition of the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour (RSW) is Scotland’s primary showcase of watercolour and water-based media. …The exhibition in the RSA Upper Galleries on The Mound, Edinburgh, over 300 paintings … showing the best of contemporary watercolour just across the hall from the National Gallery of Scotland’s Turner watercolours.’

‘The show includes some 200 paintings by RSW members, and over 100 paintings by non-members who were selected from the open submission. The online show includes one work by each artist in the show (with a small number of exceptions).’

The 142nd Open Annual Exhibition of the he Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour runs at the Royal Scottish Academy Building on the Mound, Edinburgh, until February 16. In the spacious Upper Galleries, the show features over 300 paintings by RSW members and other artists who responded to the call for open submissions from Scotland, the UK and around the world. It is a showcase of best painting in Scotland in watercolour and water-based media.

Visit the exhibition in person at the RSA Building, Princes Street, Edinburgh, open Monday-Saturday 10am-5pm, Sunday 12noon-5pm, admission free, catalogue £6. Closed Wednesday 1st February.
