Expanding from traditional genres of watercolour painting, today artists of the RWS explore the boundaries of this medium and use a wide variety of water-based media such as gouache, ink and acrylic. Be prepared to be delighted by modern work that is exciting and distinguished.

Northern Ground: Summer Exhibition 2018

I have a couple of paintings in Northern Ground: Summer Exhibition 2018 at Gallagher and Turner.

From their website: “To coincide with ‘The Great Exhibition of The North’, our Summer Exhibition this year, Northern Ground, demonstrates the wealth of artistic talent in our region, with an overarching landscape theme that presents the North from various perspectives. Members of the Royal Watercolour Society exhibit a new selection of paintings in their latest exhibition. Founded in 1804, the RWS is the oldest and most prestigious watercolour society in the world. Works exhibited are in a variety of water‑based media including watercolour, acrylic, ink and gouache, ranging in styles from traditional to contemporary.

COLOUR & VISION

On now COLOUR & VISION, RWS AUTUMN EXHIBITION.

The spectrum of colour we see on a day-to-day basis is something that can trigger a multitude of emotions, thoughts and memories. In the Royal Watercolour Society’s Autumn exhibition, Members explore the theme of colour, resulting in a fascinating insight into their individual creative visions.

Sunday Times Watercolour Competition 2017
